I was was elected by attorneys in District 6, which covers Monterey, San Benito, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties. I was sworn in at the State Bar Annual Meeting in September and will be serving a three-year term.
Danette Meyers, a prosecutor in the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, and Heather Rosing, of law firm Klinedinst PC in the San Diego area, were also elected.
The State Bar of California is an administrative arm of the California Supreme Court. All lawyers practicing law in California must be members of the State Bar. According to the State Bar website, membership now stands at about a quarter million.
